The Hudson Valley /Catskill Partnership (HV/CP)
One in three New Yorkers would find it difficult to read the following
information. The Hudson Valley/Catskill Partnership, along with six other
regional adult education networks across the state, provide support to
educators so that every New Yorker will be able to read these sentences.
Literate adults in the family significantly improve the chances that children
of the state will acquire, improve, and sustain the ability to read and
write.
The Hudson Valley/Catskill Partnership serves as a regional network for
the improvement of adult education and family literacy by providing staff
development, training and information resources to agencies, and
programs educating adult learners. HV/CP also supports and promotes effective
literacy instruction for adults.
The partnership serves adult education and family education programs in
a ten county region: Chenango, Delaware, Dutchess, Orange, Otsego, Putnam,
Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester counties.
Agencies served include: BOCES, school districts, volunteer literacy,
career centers and one-stop sites, community-based organizations, county
and state correctional facilities, educational opportunity centers, drug
and alcohol rehabilitation facilities, and libraries.
