Alternative High School Diploma - Coser 408
This program services students who, at the time of admission, are in
the ninth, tenth, eleventh or twelfth grade. Students who are considering
the program should do so with the clear understanding that they must be
willing to accept the challenge of addressing and resolving attitudes
and behaviors that have, in the past, contributed to a lack of success
in school.
This full day high school diploma program provides comprehensive support
services along with the core curriculum requirements. Diplomas are issued
from component high schools when requirements for graduation have been
met. The school’s small enrollment and limited class size assures
individual student attention with minimal distractions. The academic instructors,
combined with on-staff social workers and local community support agencies,
work to create an optimum opportunity for student success. Students are
asked to be equal and contributing partners in pursuit of that success.
It is possible for students to return to their home school and complete
graduation requirements if sufficient progress has been made in all areas
of concern.
Cost Formula: To budget
for this program, districts must identify the number of pre-purchased
slots they require. A per student tuition rate will be established based
on the number of purchased slots.
