Alternative Middle School Program - Coser 407
The goal of the Youngsville Middle School is to help each student achieve
academic and social success. We look for seventh and eighth grade students
who are willing to begin the challenge of addressing and resolving
attitudes and behaviors that have negatively impacted their educational
success. The program presents a small school atmosphere where personal
attention and direction are provided on an individual basis. Criteria
that may be used for application and admission include excessive tardiness
and absenteeism, lack of support outside of the school environment, low
levels of personal responsibility, social inappropriateness and minimal
academic success. Our hope is that students eventually return to their
home school and successfully pursue their high school diploma. The option
does exist for students who are doing well at the Youngsville School to
remain and complete graduation requirements.
Cost Formula: To budget
for this program, districts must identify the number of pre-purchased
slots they require. A per student tuition rate will be established based
on the number of purchased slots.
