Custom Fabrication & Metalworking - Coser 101.190
(1 or 2 year program)
This is a one or two year program designed to give students the training
and knowledge necessary to design and construct custom parts. Students
learn design on Mastercam and then make their custom parts from raw materials
such as steel, aluminum, and brass on state-of-the-art Haas CNC milling
and lathe machines. Students gain basic skills and knowledge to enter
the workforce as an entry-level machinist or to continue studies in college,
military, or as an apprentice. Course units of study include but are not
limited to:
- Introduction to Technical Drawing
- Measurement and Layout
- Machine Tool Operation
- Basic Welding Techniques
- Mastercam CAD / CAM Systems
- Architect Design
Students prepare for employment opportunities such as:
- CAD Designer
- CNC Programmer
- CNC Operator
- Machinist Inspector
- Machining & Production Positions
- Tool & Die Machinist
- Fabricator
