The Health Care industry offers exciting, high-wage careers in literally hundreds of different areas of specialization. This program allows you the freedom to explore these professions while preparing for employment or college. The Health Occupations Program offers four different options for students: Juniors - Health Occupations I; Seniors - Allied Health, Health Occupations II, and New Vision Health.
These programs offer students an opportunity to go on-site into area health care facilities. Students will explore career choices, job shadow, build a professional portfolio, and have the opportunity to obtain certifications in CPR, First Aid, and/or Certified Nursing Assistant (for that course option).
Students choose their own educational path as they progress through their training based on their program selection and career interests. Students will learn through classroom, lab, and internship/clinical experiences for half the day and they will spend the other half-day at their high school completing coursework for graduation. This program is designed for students who desire to enter the health care workforce with advanced skills or continue their education after high school.Career Opportunities: Healthcare Fields- Alcohol and Drug Counseling
