Reopening of Sullivan BOCES: 2020-2021 School Year

  • Sullivan BOCES is planning on initially reopening in a hybrid modality in the fall.  As additional questions arise we will do our best to answer them. For items not addressed in the subheadings, please refer to the FAQ below.

    Start of Classes
The 2020-2021 school year for students will commence with the start of our hybrid schedule on Monday, September 14th.

    Hybrid Schedule
In order to accommodate most of our component school districts, Sullivan BOCES will be reopening on a hybrid schedule. The student schedule will look as follows:

    In-Person - Cohort A
    Remote - Cohort B

    In-Person - Cohort A
    Remote - Cohort B

    In-Person -  No Students
    Remote - Cohort A & Cohort B

    In-Person - Cohort B
    Remote - Cohort A

    In-Person - Cohort B
    Remote - Cohort A

Specific details of the hybrid schedule will be developed by building administration in consultation with the faculty and instructional staff. Once the schedule is drafted, BOCES will share that information with the families.

    Masks and Social Distancing
Masks will be required to be worn by all students and staff at all times. In order to maximize social distancing, some furniture in our classrooms will be removed.

    Student COVID Screening
The families of our students are asked to complete the Sullivan BOCES remote screening protocol. This can be done by using a hyperlink or QR code located on our website.

All students will have their temperatures taken using a handheld contactless digital thermometer as they arrive each day.  Any student with a temperature of 100 degrees or higher will be stood off to the side and rescanned after the remainder of the bus disembarks. If they still register a temperature of 100 degrees or higher on the second scan they will return to their home district via the bus. The students' parents and the home district will be called immediately.
