Sullivan Renaissance Internship and Scholarship Program (For more information click here)

Sullivan Renaissance is a beautification and community development initiative of the Gerry  Foundation.  We believe that beautification builds community pride; and that partnerships and grassroots volunteerism build beautiful, active communities.  Through a competitive grant process, Sullivan Renaissance offers funding technical assistance and other resources in support of this mission.

Each year, in partnership with the Sullivan County Center for Workforce Development, Sullivan Renaissance hires several part-time seasonal interns to work alongside community volunteers on grant-funded projects. This paid internship is an excellent opportunity for youth between the ages of 16 - 20 years old to be part of the movement to change and shape the future of communities throughout Sullivan County. It is also a way for groups participating in the program to receive additional help for their project while mentoring a young person in the community.

Program Eligibility

The Internship and Youth Development Program is a competitive opportunity that demands a strong commitment. Preference will be given to applicants for whom this will be their only summer job.  To be eligible applicants must be a resident of Sullivan County between the ages of 16 - 20 years old at the time of application. Original working papers (for those under 18 years of age), social security card and photo ID are required for hiring.  Eligible applicants are responsible, hardworking, self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, and cooperative.

Sullivan  Renaissance has two scholarship programs that are available for volunteers who make a significant contribution to a Sullivan Renaissance project.

In partnership with the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan Counties, a limited number of scholarships to the college of one’s choice are available for Sullivan County residents.

The SUNY Sullivan College Foundation awards a limited number of scholarships to youth or adult volunteers who contribute their time to a Renaissance project.
