Greeting from the District Superintendent

Welcome to the Sullivan BOCES!

We are one of 37 BOCES (Board of Cooperative Educational Services) established across New York State.  We exist to help school districts and communities:

  • by providing shared services that will increase student performance,
  • by providing economic solutions for school districts, and ultimately,
  • by creating a positive impact on the people and communities of Sullivan County.

We boast an extensive Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program which provides high school students with pre-professional and vocational training in a variety of 21st Century career areas including health, technology, environment, and various trades.  All of our programs have articulation agreements with colleges and trade schools.

We offer excellent, specialized programs serving students with a wide range of disabilities.  Quality related services support individualized education plans.  Shared educational services for all special needs students can be accessed at the BOCES campuses and through our staff visits to the home school.

We operate an Alternative Education Program for students who have difficulty learning in a traditional high school environment.  Our goal is that each student will earn a New York State Regents diploma and be ready for post-high school training.

Our staff acts directly with component schools to provide instructional support programs such as:

  • arts in education
  • curriculum development for teachers
  • integration of instructional technology into the classroom

Finally, we work with district administration to assist our component schools in efficiently using taxpayer dollars.  We cooperatively provide key services in financial management, planning, health & safety coordination, telecommunications, data analysis, and other areas that school districts deem significant.

This is a broad overview of the extensive programs and services offered by the Sullivan BOCES to help districts better serve their constituents.  Please browse our website to learn more.  If you wish, contact me personally for more information by calling (845) 295-4015.
